Jason Hurricane Kanofski has outpointed Tyrone Tongia in what should have been a classic QLD Welterweight battle. 24 hours prior though Tongia failed to make the required weight limit leaving the bout as a non title affair.

Jason Hurricane Kanofski has outpointed Tyrone Tongia in what should have been a classic QLD Welterweight battle. 24 hours prior though Tongia failed to make the required weight limit leaving the bout as a non title affair.



One judge scored the bout 76 - 76 whilst the remaining two judges both gave the fight to Kanofski 77 - 75. Kanofski was bed ridden for the week of the fight with a severe flu and proved his Champion status by getting of the canvas to outbox and out smart Tongia over the 8 rounds. Tongia caught Kanofski late in the third round which many thought it was a slip but the referee put a count on the Hurricane.

Kanofski fought the fight inside and his work rate and accuracy gave him the edge in most of the rounds.

Jason Kanofski's younger brother Tim was also victorious on the night as he outpointed George Huni in what was clearly the fight of the night.
