Alex Leapai last night won the OPBF Heavyweight Title after stopping Nathan Briggs in the 8th round.

The fight had been billed as Boxer V Brawler and it lived up to expectations. Nathan Briggs started the fight with work to Leapai's body and his fight plan had him winning the early rounds.

Leapai began to find the mark in the third round and a series of 7 knockdowns over the next four rounds gave Brad Vocale no choice but to declare Alex Leapai the winner by TKO.

Alex Leapai's future in the Heavyweight ranks looks positive with already talk of a possible match with Bob Mirovic and a title defence in Japan.

The undercard was jam packed with action for the sellout crowd.

Ranee Ganoy knocked out Somchai Nakbalee in spectacular fashion showing exactly why he is considered to be the most dangerous lightweight in the world.

Tyrone Tongia lifted to another level in defeating David Wiremu. Tongia is surely on the path to QLD and Australian Title honours in the Light Middleweight division.

Jason Kanfoski returned to the winners circle with a classy boxing display against Filipino Arnel Balicuatro.

Jason Hartman won via first round KO over Clayton Collyer in a ferocious round.

Steve Wijangco and Trent Wehrman fought out a draw in what was a great opening to the card. Both fighters showed plenty of determination and a rematch is a must see.
