Mick Shaw V Mathew Paulley Australian Welterweight Title



Mathew Paulley has retained his Australian Welterweight Title after his fight with Mick Shaw was ruled a Draw on a technical decision after 6 rounds. Paulley was cut badly after a head clash early on in the fight and when referee Tony Kettlewell called the fight off they had to go to the judges for the decision. One ruled in favour of Shaw whilst the other two had a draw. What resulted was Mathew Paulley retaining the title.



It was an ending that robbed the crowd of what was shaping to be an epic battle.

The Nasty Boy Nathan Briggs has scored a points decision over Michael Kirby in a great Heavyweight battle. Briggs and Kirby both landed heavy blows throughout the 8 rounds and had the crowd on their feet with a final flourish.
