What a night! New Blood II goes off!

Michael IRON RHINO Kirby finished off a spectacular night of Boxing action by winning the OPBF Heavyweight Title with a 9th round KO of Nathan Briggs.

Kirby in only his 8th fight as a professional now has a stepping stone to International rantings and excellent fight opportunitites that come with that.

Briggs from the outset stood toe to toe with Kirby in what was inevitably the wrong game plan. His training had been to perfection and with this came an inner confiedence - he was out for the KO and his gameplan was evident. No one can ever question the chin and resolve of Kirby now as he soaked up everything Briggs gave.



Kirby grew in confidence during the fight with the knowledge that his stamina and chin would hold up. Briggs was knocked down in the middle rounds after the two traded heavy blows and he was again knocked down during the 9th round and failed to beat the ten count from referee Phil Austin.

In the semi Main Event Jason Hartmann won a unanimous points decision over Bruce Macfie.

Hartmann started the stronger of the two landing heavy body blows. These shots were accompanied by some heavy right hands which threw Macfie of his game plan as he looked to adjust and survive the opening rounds.

By the end of the fight Macfie had found his boxing legs and was matching Hartmann in all areas. The two finished with a flurry of heavy punches with Hartmann acknowledging Macfie immediately after the final bell sounded in what was a show of respect. Macfie's fitness and determination were a highlight and the predominately pro boxing crowd showed their appreciation as they understood and respected what he had just achieved.
